in 1981 This plant was found in Burle Marx's collection in Rio de Janeiro and later introduced to cultivation  It is not known exactly where this plant was collected from.

The mid-juvenile leaf shape,  in particular resembles a flame. The name derives from a combination of this aspect and the story behind this cultivar.

This plant starts with it's entire whole leaves but quickly splits into a deeply pinnatifid form with the leaflets set wide, and further  apart as it matures. In the most mature plants sporadic perforations can be observed at the base of some leaflets along the midrib.

It bears some superficial resemblance to Monstera deliciosa, and more closely to especially to Monstera deliciosa var. sierrana (now a synonym of Monstera deliciosa).

• Soil: Rich, organic, well-drained soil
• Water: Distilled water, up to three times a week
• Lighting: Bright, filtered light
• Temperature: 59 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit
• Humidity: 80 to 90 percent
• Fertilizer: Diluted liquid feed applied weekly during the growing season
• Mist: you can Mist the leaves regularly to keep the foliage looking great, and to increase the humidity 
• Direct sunlight: Keep your plant out of direct sunlight
• Humidity: Keep the humidity around 80 percent
• Light:  Too intense of a light can burn or depleate the vibrancy of its foliage.
